KAREN WILLENBERG

Karen Willenberg is a regulatory lawyer and the founder of Neith, an African startup dedicated to providing digital infrastructure that enables participatory decision making at scale. 

 

Previously, Karen worked in broadcasting policy and regulation across the African continent, which included leadership roles in key industry bodies. Before starting Neith, she served as Regulatory Counsel for the MultiChoice Group. Drawing on her background in communications regulation, she works closely with public and private institutions to build digital decision environments that support broad participation, strengthen legitimacy and expand decision making capacity. 

 

Karen earned her law degree from the University of Cape Town. She also holds a degree in drama and a Masters degree in religious studies.
